About Our Services

The Gateshead School Sport Partnership offers Primary and Secondary School Service Level Agreements in the area of Physical Education (PE) and School Sport.

Primary Schools can affiliate to a Foundation Service Level Agreement (SLA). This Foundation SLA is designed to provide effective support to schools with delivery and accountability attached to the sport premium funding. The service has been developed following extensive consultation with Primary Head Teachers, PE Co-ordinators and pupils. On top of the Foundation SLA, the Enhanced SLA then allows schools to build a tailored SLA package more suited to individual school needs and priorities.

Secondary Schools can affiliate to a Secondary School SLA - using a credit system to allow schools to also build a tailored SLA package more suited to individual school needs and priorities within the following three areas:

  • Competition
  • Participation
  • Leadership

Affiliating to the Primary / Secondary School SLA's with the Gateshead School Sports Partnership ensures schools will benefit from the high quality support, guidance, professional development, resources and programmes that we provide.

Gateshead Schools Health and Wellbeing Service

The Gateshead Schools Health and Wellbeing programme delivered by the Gateshead School Sports Partnership (GSSP) is a seperate SLA which provides guidance to schools on the physical and emotional wellbeing of children and young people, recognising that a ‘healthy school’ plays an important role in helping children and young people reach their full potential.

This SLA is available to both Primary and Secondary Schools.

The programme supports the links between health, behaviour and attainment. The programme is about creating healthy and happy children and young people who, as a result, do better in learning and in life. It uses a ‘Whole School Approach’ to promoting Health and Wellbeing.

Expanding futher, in 2021/22 the Health & Wellbeing 'EXTRA' package was introduced to provide further support to schools with a focus on the development of staff health and wellbeing. This packages allows affiliated schools to access additional resources such as: #INSPIRE150 and Staff Yoga & Wellbeing initiatives.

Please access the Gateshead Schools Health & Wellbeing Service Website HERE for more information regarding the SLA's and 'EXTRA' package or CONTACT US HERE.
